I am a compassionate and self-motivated international educator with 14 years of classroom experience in Canada, Taiwan, and Guatemala. I hold a Master of Education and a Graduate Degree in Elementary Education from the College of New Jersey, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from Queen’s University. My diverse certifications include the WIDA Framework, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, the Question Formulation Technique, and Universal Design for Learning.
I am passionate about creating equitable educational opportunities for multilingual learners, utilizing translanguaging strategies, and integrating the arts into lessons for EAL students. My work also emphasizes social-emotional learning and fostering strong family engagement. In my roles as both an EAL Coordinator and a Dual Language Liaison, I have focused on using student data to ensure all learners have full access to the curriculum while empowering them to leverage their language skills effectively.
As a lifelong learner, I am deeply committed to ongoing professional development and exploring innovative practices in education. I strive to create inclusive, student-centered learning environments that promote equity and help develop global citizens.
